2/19/23 - My Spouse Died, What Do I Do Now?

There are legal issues and life transition issues pressing for your immediate attention.  Where do you begin?  What’s most important?  Elderlaw Attorney, Geriatric Care Manager and Licensed Professional Counselor Sue E. Fabian helps walk you through this dreadfully difficult time.  She faced many legal, care and life-transition issues in her 22 year sole caregiving of her parent.  She has also guided scores of families through this same process in her 20+ year career as an attorney and 30+ year career as a geriatric care manager.  She will help you, too.

2/26/23 - Funeral Consumerism / Pre-Planning

What took me two months to pre-plan my mother’s funeral is undertaken by most in two days in a state of deep grief and sleepwalking.  Pre-planning your funeral is truly your last gift to your loved ones.  This workshop will help you walk into any funeral home with basic knowledge of the traps that siphon your hard-earned dollars.  I will also discuss alternatives to traditional funerals  and propose a basic layout for a service.  Handouts of the presentation will be available along with a one-page pre-planning document to let your heirs know of your preferences.  A chart will also be provided to help you cost-compare in shopping around.  All adults are encouraged to engage in this planning as part of your basic estate planning.  Remember, what you do not do now gets dumped in the laps of your loved ones at the moment of their deepest suffering.  Presented by Elderlaw Attorney, Geriatric Care Manager and Licensed Professional Counselor Sue E. Fabian.
